Do not simply resist (temptation), replace it. - From the sins of sweet treats to the deep, often unacknowledged sins of my heart, how boldly this simple statement speaks to me.
Learn, learn, and listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth.
“The Bible says that ‘according to your faith be it done you’ (Matt. 9:29). And when we set goals, we are saying, God, I believe you want me to accomplish this with your help by this time. I am challenging you. I am daring you. I am begging you: dream great dreams for God, and teach others to dream great dreams for God.” (p.44)
Reflection:
O Lord, grant me the wisdom and strength to dream kingdom dreams. Rid me of my sinful cowardice, self-doubt, avoidance, laziness, thinking (“believing”) without doing, lack of initiative and discipline to seek you each day, and selfish dependence on my own mind. Yuck! Let me dream once more.
And fly!
(Trying to read, research, and write when I feel ill-equipped and underqualified and unmotivated.)

Hebrews 12:7-13
9 Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live?
10 For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness.
11 For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
12 Therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees,
13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather be healed.

Is it like this
In death’s other kingdom
Walking alone
At the hour when we are
Trembling with tenderness
Lips that would kiss
Form prayers to broken stone
